STRATEGIC PLANNING
Antigua, Guatemala
Organization:
A non-profit bilingual education school who serves an average of 225 Spanish/English speaking children in grades pre-k to grade 8.

After a comprehensive needs assessment, Cristi served to develop and administer strategies for implementing continuous school improvement and professional development for the administration and teachers with goals to improve their structural organization, teacher motivation, quality of instructional delivery and teacher retention. Cristi led the review of the School’s Strategic Plans including updating Action Plans and designing Evaluation Measures that outlined systematic procedures to improve the organization and management of the school within the policy guidelines of the Guatemala Ministry of Education. This included the facilitation of comprehensive School Improvement Plans involving intercultural community stakeholders. Training was custom designed and delivered to the administrators in the areas of effective supervision of their teachers, building and sustaining learning communities, development of a school handbook, and curriculum mapping. To meet goals of improving teacher quality, motivation and retention, Cristi delivered customized teacher training opportunities including one-on-one coaching and professional development seminars in early childhood development, elementary, and mid-level best practices in teaching and learning methods, assessment practices, curricular content and student management.
